You'll start with your own drawings or trace from a photo youve taken. After creating a few simple images on paper, the images are transferred to the computer. Margaret provides a thorough demonstration, using Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 10, on how to create brushes from the imagery, and then she shows how to strategically layer the imagery to produce a selection of related images that can be made into Thermofax screens. Note: A Thermofax machine is not needed for this process; Margaret uses an online service to have her screens made.

Next, Margaret demonstrates her screen-printing technique. The resulting image is a unique negative print that can be colorfully enhanced with further surface design. Margaret shows her methods for adding color with acrylic craft paints, water-soluble pastels, and Derwent Inktense Blocks, and she concludes by sharing a gallery of finished pieces.
